This is not really a disclaimer. It's just what we don't like.
WHAT IF? is not interested in hype, snipe, fads, pop, the news-of-the-day,
reformism, sectarianism, liberalism, libertarianism (those
folks who don’t know their left from their right), nihilism,
celebrity, New Age spirituality or other buy-your-way-to-heaven
strategies, most sci-fi or fantasy utopianism, trash-talk,
hectoring or minutiae.
We do not dumb-down, because the stupidity
of most capitalist discourse is one of the things we dislike
most about it. We like clear thinking, deep perspective, eloquence
and long attention spans.
We are also not interested in most
current left-wing political analysis, which is amply represented
in many other high-quality journals. Nor do we publish academic
writing, unless it has been revised for a general audience.
We are associated with no political party or tendency, and
seek no work
which is.
